This Privacy Policy explains how Dara Finance Inc. ("Dara") handles personal data when you use Dara, including Dara Money and Dara Property. It covers what we collect, why, who we share it with, and your rights.
It should be read alongside our Cookie Policy, which explains the cookies and similar technologies we use on getdara.app.
Data we collect
Identity and verification data (name, date of birth, government ID, proof of address); contact details; transaction and payment data; financial and income information needed for financing; property-transaction details; entity and tax-registration information; device, log, and usage data; and communications with us.
When you submit a site inquiry, we may store first- and conversion-touch details (such as page, referrer, campaign, and coarse device, browser, and operating-system categories) and anonymous analytics identifiers with that inquiry in our CRM. This helps us understand how people find Dara and which journeys lead to inquiries; it is not used for third-party advertising.
Where you use Circles, we also process limited information about the family members you share money with, which you are responsible for having the right to provide. Where you form an entity, we also process information about that entity and the people connected to it that is needed to set it up and meet legal requirements.
How we collect it
We collect data directly from you when you register, verify your identity, use the service, apply for financing, or progress a property transaction; automatically from your device and interactions with the app and site; and from partners, partner lenders, providers, and verification services who help us confirm your identity and process transactions.
Why we use it and our legal bases
To open and operate your account, execute and settle transfers, set up your entity and accounts, coordinate your purchase, pass information to lenders and service providers you engage, meet legal and anti-money-laundering obligations, prevent fraud, provide support, and improve the product.
We process data to perform our contract with you, to comply with legal obligations, for our legitimate interests in running and securing the service, and with your consent where required (for example, certain analytics).
Sharing and subprocessors
We share data with the partners who deliver the service, including corridor and settlement partners (Nomba, Nuvion, and Bridge by Stripe), and with partner lenders and the appraisal, title, insurance, and entity-formation providers you engage. We use PostHog Cloud's US region and Google Analytics 4 as analytics service providers. We limit the data sent, configure PostHog to discard client IP addresses, and allow Google Analytics to use first-party analytics cookies only after you accept analytics. Google advertising features remain disabled. We also share data with regulators and law enforcement where legally required.
These providers may process your data only on our instructions or as needed to deliver their service, subject to appropriate agreements. We do not sell your personal data.
International transfers
Because Dara operates between the US and other countries, your data may be transferred and processed across borders. We rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers as required by applicable law.
Where required, we put contractual and technical protections in place so that transferred data continues to be protected.
Data retention
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and as long as needed for your transactions, and for the period afterwards required by financial-services and anti-money-laundering law and by lenders and providers.
When data is no longer needed for these purposes, we delete it or anonymise it.
Security
We use technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including access controls and encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights and how to exercise them
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, and object to or restrict certain processing. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To exercise your rights, contact hello@getdara.app. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and some data must be retained to meet legal, lender, and provider obligations.
Children's data
Dara is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children; if we learn we have, we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will note the effective date and, where changes are material, provide additional notice.
