FAQ
Quick answers about Dara Money and Dara Property.
General
Dara is one financial home for money that crosses borders, built stablecoin-first. Hold dollars and your home currency side by side, send across borders in seconds at the real rate, spend anywhere with a Dara card, earn on your balance until you spend it, and move money in or out whenever you like.
Then grow it: Dara Property lets you buy, finance, and manage US rental property from your phone, wherever you live. Circles bring the people you trust into the same account, with rules you set.
Anyone running money across countries. Supported countries are live at launch, including the US, Nigeria, the UK, Canada, and Europe. Family on the other side can join your Circles and receive transfers in seconds.
For Dara Property, you don't need a green card, an SSN, or US credit history. It is built for buyers anywhere in the world, and every step runs remotely, including notarization, which Dara arranges online where the state authorizes it.
Wallets hold several currencies side by side, each with its own real account number where the corridor is live. Dara opens a corridor only when verification and payouts both work on each side.
Dara supports up to 180 countries. At launch, wallets hold US dollars, naira, pounds, and Canadian dollars, and add a currency with every corridor that opens.
No. Dara is a technology company, not a bank, a licensed money transmitter, a regulated financial institution, or an investment adviser.
Account services are delivered by Bridge, a licensed partner, and the Dara card is issued by a licensed partner bank under license from Visa. Protections vary by product, and the footer sets out exactly what each one covers.
Yes. Dara is stablecoin-first: the account, transfers, and card run on stablecoin rails, which is why money crosses borders in seconds with no markup on the rate.
You never have to touch a stablecoin to use Dara. Hold and spend the currencies you know, and the rails do their work underneath. If you do use stablecoins or crypto, they sit in the same account as everything else.
Stablecoin balances are not bank deposits and are not covered by deposit insurance. Like any digital asset, their value can fall.
Dara is free to download. No markups and no exchange fees: the rate you see is the rate you get, and any fee is shown in full before you confirm.
For property, every fee is itemized in-app before you commit: Dara's, the lender's, and the manager's.

Dara Money
You hold the currency you earn in and the one your family spends, side by side, each with its own real account number where the corridor is live, so you can get paid like a local on both sides. Every balance, transfer, and card spend lives on one timeline, and Dara shows what you saved versus banks on fees and FX, month after month.
Yes. Fund your account from a stablecoin or crypto wallet as easily as from a bank account, and hold stablecoins and crypto beside your everyday money. Send to any wallet address with the network and fee shown before you confirm, or convert back to dollars whenever you like.
Every stablecoin and crypto balance lives on the same timeline as the rest of your money, with the same card, Circles, and automations.
Dara cards come virtual and physical. Create as many virtual cards as you like, and request a physical card, issued by a licensed partner bank under license from Visa, so it works wherever Visa is accepted.
Every card spends either balance anywhere, with Apple Pay and Google Pay. You see the exact rate and fee before you confirm, and you can freeze any card in a tap.
Every card purchase earns cashback, at a rate set by your Dara membership tier. Rates are announced at launch and can move up or down over time.
The rules, including what counts as a qualifying purchase, live in the Dara Rewards Addendum, and your timeline shows what each purchase earned.
Earn is software that connects your balance to lending protocols run by third parties, through vault providers that Dara does not operate. What you earn comes from lending activity on those protocols, so the rate changes with the market and with how each protocol performs.
Earn is not a bank account, a deposit, or a savings account. Money placed in Earn has no deposit insurance, carries no guarantee, and can shrink. The rate you see in the app is the current one, not a promise, and you can move money back to your Dara balance at any time.
A Circle is a group for the people you trust with money: family, friends, colleagues, or any mix, like the group chats you already run. Whoever creates the Circle sets the rules: who can contribute, who can send, who can spend, and how much. Contributions run on schedule and payouts land on time, so shared money stays protected. A joint account is simply a Circle set up for two.
Yes. Move money between your accounts automatically to keep a balance where you want it, set limits, and schedule payments. Top up a Circle on payday or convert the instant your rate hits. Set it once and leave it.
Yes. Circles are shared with family, approvals keep shared money protected, and transfers land in their bank or mobile wallet in seconds. Money on Dara moves in both directions: money in, money out.
Sending money
Every supported country, with every corridor working both ways, to any bank or mobile wallet. Supported countries are live at launch, up to 180 of them, with the full list in the app. Our home corridors run between the US and Africa, and Dara supports all corridors the same way.
Seconds, typically. Dara routes every transfer for the fastest arrival available, and it lands in any bank or mobile wallet on either side. You can follow its status on your timeline the whole way.
The real mid-market rate, never a markup hidden in the exchange rate. The rate you see before you confirm is the rate you get.
Transfers are free when they travel over Dara's own rails, with no markups and no exchange fees.
Networks, receiving banks, and other third parties may charge their own fees. Any fee that does apply sits on its own line before you confirm: no percentage tiers, no surprises at the last step.
Limits depend on your verification level and corridor, and Dara shows yours in-app before you send. You verify once, and everything else builds on that.
Yes. Dara is built for life in both directions. Rent from a Dara Property lands in your wallet next to the money you send, family contributes to shared Circles, and more two-way features are rolling out.
Dara Property
The way to buy, finance, and manage a US rental entirely from your phone, from wherever you live. No SSN, no US credit history, and not a single flight. Dara maps every step and stands up the accounts, the financing, and the management.
Anyone building US assets from outside the US, and US residents too. You don't need a green card, an SSN, or US credit history. Dara qualifies you on the property's rent, not on the passport you hold.
Dara uses DSCR-style financing through partner lenders: the home qualifies on the rent it earns, not your personal credit. Finance up to 70% of the purchase and compete like a cash buyer.
Financing is offered for investment (non-owner-occupied) purposes; terms are confirmed at qualification.
Everything a US purchase needs, stood up for you: an LLC, an EIN, and a US bank account, plus a pre-approval so you can start shopping. You verify once and Dara sets it up for you.
Yes. Appraisal, inspection, title, insurance, and signing all run remotely, including notarization, which Dara arranges online. Remote online notarization is authorized in Texas, our launch market, and Dara confirms the closing path for each state before you commit.
Texas is the launch market: Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, and Austin, picked for rent, not hype. From there, Dara expands to other landlord-friendly states. Prices and yields for each market are shown in-app before you commit.
Dara does, unless you specify otherwise. Every property goes into Dara's property management by default: we find and place tenants, handle them and the upkeep, and rent pays straight into your Dara business account. Prefer your own manager? Say so, and we set it up that way.
Every fee is itemized in-app before you commit: Dara's, the lender's, and the manager's. Nothing is buried in an exchange rate or a closing line-item, and funding the deal through your wallet means no wire fees.
Dara supports the exit too: market data on your dashboard, and listing support through local partners when you're ready.
Security & privacy
Your stablecoins sit in a wallet that you own and control. Dara never takes custody of them, and nothing moves without your approval.
Account services run through Bridge, a licensed partner, and the card is issued by a licensed partner bank. On top of that: fraud monitoring, verified sign-in, and a card you can freeze in a tap.
Stablecoin balances are not bank deposits and are not covered by deposit insurance. Their value can fall, and money placed in Earn can lose value.
For stablecoins, you do. They sit in a self-custodial wallet under your control, and Dara never holds them.
Account services are delivered by Bridge, a licensed partner, and the Dara card is issued by a licensed partner bank. Each partner is named in your account terms and in-app.
Biometric login, two-factor authentication, trusted devices, and one-tap card freeze. Security is on by default, not buried in settings.
Your account stays locked behind biometrics and two-factor authentication, and you can freeze your card in a tap. Write to hello@getdara.app and the team will help you secure your account and restore access on a new device.
Your data is encrypted, used to verify your identity and meet regulatory requirements, and never sold.
