Your role is not set by your address. A parent back home can fund a student abroad with the same account the student's sister uses to send money the other way, and neither of them has to hold a different kind of account to do it.

  • One account sends and receives, whichever side of whichever corridor you are on.
  • Money arriving from home lands in your USD balance, ready to spend or hold.
  • The person on the other side needs a Dara account, not a bank you have never heard of.

Questions about sending money

The rate you are shown when you review the transfer. If it moves before you confirm, you are re-quoted and you see the new number before anything leaves your account. You are never given a worse rate quietly.

The money comes back to you in the currency it left in, at the amount it left as. A held transfer is not converted while it waits, so nothing is lost to exchange movement, and you can cancel it yourself at any point before they claim it.

That is why this list is short and honest rather than long and aspirational. It grows; the way it works does not change.

Because they are opening a real account that holds real money, and the rules that apply to you apply to them. Verification is what makes the money theirs rather than something sitting in a queue with their name on it.

The fee is stated on the review screen before you confirm, on its own line beside what the recipient gets and what you pay in total. No markup is hidden in the rate, and nothing is added on collection day. Transfers between Dara accounts in the same currency are free, and every rate and fee on Dara is published in full.
